  1. Bravo, John, for saying what you needed to say and shaming the play-off tradition! Our dogs (and cats) are important to our happiness, and it's not silly at all to make them part of your speech. Sending you a hug for your loss.

  2. Am I The Only One Who Wants To Be Like His Dog You Know Dead If You Do Let Me Know!

  3. My soul dog passed at 16.5yrs in late ‘23. My husband and I toasted to her memory… i said to her spirit- a million yrs together would not have been enough. I promise to find you again.she was the very best girl. I miss the yrs we had together. She was our ring attendant at our wedding. She was a treasure. I cant wait for this yr of firsts without her to be over.

  4. is so cute to see him so flustered <3

  5. I love John (and Jon) and I love dogs – perfection <3

  6. My dogs didn't even bother lifting their ears, but I was very touched on their behalf.
I'm so sorry about your dog John. Just know she'd probably want you to give your love and care to another dog when you're ready.
    (The shelters are full)

  7. Now I am crying and want to pet all dogs. Yes you are all good boys and good girls and you all deserve a treat😭😭😭😭

  14. I understand as I thought of my black lab as an angel in disguise 💕

  15. 1:34 Was that Jon Stewart cheering!

  16. She was a very good dog 😢 they give us their lives and souls and all that they have… all they ask in return is a treat, a belly rub, and to be told they’re a good dog.

  17. Ive never heard someone actually get them to stop the gtfo music lol ofc it'd be oliver. Mans a menace, best there is. Respect.

  18. ricky gervais ??? We need your support.. this is horrible to watch.

  19. John Oliver you are the bestttt❤❤❤

  20. Genocide in Palestine… and you discuss your dog instead!?

  21. We love you John

  22. I loved that! after the end of his speech, I hollered over to my deaf 18 yr old dog, curled up in her bed, “Abbey! you got an Emmy!!!”😊❤❤❤

  23. Yeah this year I lost my beloved Bloodhound. This year. And I fellow some celebrities who also lost their Dogs this year. This feels almost like a tribute to for all of us who lost the best friend of our life.

  24. Oliver's takes are sometimes so trouble for secular liberal democracy. He has no perspective of the liberal values that have made America so great. We discuss this at length in our debate club – Atheist Republic.

  25. John Oliver, the only man who can cut off the cut off music.

  26. Man my dog died 7 years ago and it still goes right in the feels.

  27. LOVE YOU JOHN!!!!YOU ARE AN AMERICAN TREASURE!!!!( IMPORTED)

  28. 🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰

  29. He's not wrong. Dogs are all good girls and boys and deserve a treat. We don't deserve them.

  30. To all our pets who help us get through this thing called life, good boys and girls each and every one.

  31. My dog was just about 15 when he passed. It happened April 18, 2016. You never forget the date. He was in all my YouTube videos and making the video about his passing hurt. As well as it did the fans he made.

  32. Love that they showed Jon Stewart at the end. After seeing his tribute to his dog, I have not been the same in regards to my own pup.

  33. On another post I saw that John's dog was a golden retriever or a golden mix, my own golden jumped right out of the screen. I had to put her down 8 years ago due to cancer and it was the most difficult time for a long time for me and my family. My current golden Cody is 8 years old and his face is pale. I can't bare the thought. I just can't. I feel for John.

  34. Take that, Kristi Noem! 🐶

  35. Unlike we humans, dogs are faithful for life. Gotta love the doggos, man!

  36. Dogs are heaven-sent. They are so integral to so many families and get us through so much! Heartbroken every time we've had to say goodbye to ones we've had – our family <3 RIP little one <3

  37. He forgot his kid but remembered his dog. Good enough!

  38. This feels like not only self depreciation but shyness and gratitude.although I think a certain amount of his viewers aren't intelligent enough to get his points, they get his general vibe

  39. Tremendous admiration for John Oliver. Absolutely never miss his show.

  40. That's rough. Our furry boy passed last year. When I met my wife in highschool she already had him for 6 months. He was our dog for every stage of our relationship. I even heavily relied on him for my proposal. After 11 amazing years he passed. One of my biggest regrets is that he went 5 months before my son was born. I really would've loved for them to have met.
