Martinique and Guadeloupe need to grow a spine.. You choose to remain as a colony after all these years and cry when your master treats like you sh!t…SMH
@ChristinaDiallo
I visited this island in 2004 when I was in high school. I was there participating in a modeling competition. The island was very beautiful, but it was very poor. It is a majority all black French Island. Back in 2004, this French Caribbean island was using the euro as their currency. I remember my mother and aunt having to switch our American money to the Euro because our American money meant nothing there. I am not surprised that even now, 20 years later, the people of the island are suffering far more than before. This is sad!
@libbaT
High cost of living in Barbados for decades….no riots. I guess the residents are protesting against the comparative cost with the 'colonising' country
@neilsbruno9842
Important message to all the demonstrators… "It is easy to break and destroy. Hard to build and develop" Burning cars and shops, you just make things, More EXPENCIVE! What community development plans do the demonstrators/rioters have? -Start local community farmers markets. If every rural family has 3/4 chickens, and you never have to buy eggs for life.
@Westindiangyal1111

How is destroying businesses that provide jobs and boycotting stores that provide your basic needs helping the people. Stop destroying your infrastructure and take your fight to your local politicians. They are the ones who can actually do something about the matter.
@datraass
Unequal treatment of a colony! SHOCKER! They need independence!
@charliespence3974
This is the beginning, because prices getting out of hand.
@nesq4104
Our ancestors never complained about the price of food because they planted thier own food locally
@nesq4104

@nas6587
If it's about food costs which affect everyone why do we only see black people on the street in Martinique?… can someone from Martinique please explain…
@mandulis
It is happening Globally. 🌴🌴 Greed is the root cause. If the people are stressed the land will burn.
@remy1717
They import all their foods from France, what do they expect?
@remy1717
Not a single Black person in the police force 😂
@NORATECHNOLOGIES
So the plan was to make it worse for poor people by burning down the buildings? " Brilliantly done "
@CrimsonKnight-n5d
My heart goes out to Martinique and the wider world, let's all do our part to reduce the cost of life.
@CrimsonKnight-n5d
World wide problem. Cost of living is how hard we have to work for a given product. We could use petrol as an example of measuring the cost of life from country to country. Ok I'm good at writing words. However I don't do this for a living. This is easy for me. So if I did this for a living the cost of life is lower. Correct? Now where the cost of living is high is where you have persons not doing jobs that are easy for them. Reduce cost of living world wide. Everyone must know what they are good at/ what job is easy for them. This would reduce the cost of life significantly
@Jenny-e4v
They have refused independence from France. Voted no
@Jenny-e4v
The rich is getting richer globally
The poor people are suffering everywhere.
The number of billionaires globally, has increased.
@JDk22
Haiti 2.0 wow 😢
@andylee3784
i agree with protest cost of living too high. even in Trinidad and Tobago. Taxing is high. When covid 19 came , prices when up due to the shut down lock down, and now covid 19 went away and the prices remain there up , it did not went down.
@eriksimmons6713
Looks like they want independence from France ……and they probably want those nice french benefits too…time to make a choice.
@Dandannyman-eo2uv
Very good Martinique.. dont let them trick yrll
@lizabetx483
Food is essential. It is heartbreaking that the residue of slavery and colonization still exists. Profits over people.
@pine123-q6n
That's the balls ST. Lucians will never have but they shouldn't use any explosives extcetra.
It's so unfair the prices in Lucia going up everyday like it going out of style .
So tell me why de bigger heads make it so expensive for we.
@acharles3374
Global corporate greed has upsurge the way of life. Capitalism has failed.

@elinope4745
I have lost a third of my buying power in the last five years here in the USA. Stores stopped carrying many types of food that only the middle class could afford and now only the rich can afford.
