US president Joe Biden has said there has been “irresponsible promotion of disinformation and outright lies that are disturbing people” regarding Hurricane Milton, the “unsurvivable” storm currently approaching Florida.
He listed untrue claims of peoples’ property being confiscated, those impacted only receiving $750 in cash, money for the crisis being diverted to migrants and that the US government is controlling the weather.
“It’s getting beyond ridiculous,” he said.

So I guess this US Naatuinal Science Foundation is false https://www.nsf.gov/nsb/publications/1965/nsb1265.pdf. Modern society needs to stop dumbing down everything. Modifying the weather has been done since the 30s, and read the report from the US government above. The weather can be modified and has been modified in the past but not to the level indicated by the current nonsense on line. It is also nonsense not to explain the details to citizens and explain each research program. The government making dumbed-down explanations is what allows disinformation to overwhelm the system. The US government needs to start treating Americans like intelligent adults who can understand details and science. This will build trust in the US government. Childish dumbed-down explanations and excessive secrecy about government activities are what is causing massive public distrust. Put out accurate and timely detailed information. Then, the citizens of the US will have trust and decisiveness will end.
