Several officials reacted on social media to presidential candidate Donald Trump, who was found safe on Sunday after what the FBI said appeared to be a second assassination attempt while he was golfing on his course in West Palm Beach, Florida. “I am glad he is safe. Violence has no place in America,” said US Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, in a post on X. Harris’ vice presidential running mate, Tim Walz, reiterated Harris’ message, adding, “It’s not who we are as a nation.”

Fortunately no one was hurt in this recent incident which again points to the level of gun violence in the U.S. Many innocent children were not safe from gun violence in their schools. It's difficult to comprehend a western democracy where neither politicians nor schoolchildren are safe.
