the world’s oceans have broken temperature records every single day over the past year, BBC analysis has found.
Climate change and planet warming gases are mostly to blame, though natural weather event El Niño has also helped warm the seas.
The super-heated oceans have hit marine life hard, and has driven a new wave of coral bleaching.
The analysis is based on data from the EU’s Copernicus Climate Service – which also confirmed that last month was the warmest April on record in terms of global air temperatures.

The Great Barrier Reef's coral cover reached the greatest extent ever recorded in 2022, 2023 and 2024 (AIMS), and that is despite reports of supposed repeated bleaching, despite starfish predation and despite any bad weather. It should be renamed the Greatest Barrier Reef!
If you look at the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) data, the WIO (West Indian Ocean) shows 26% hard coral cover in 1985 upto 30% in 2020. South Asia reefs shows a decline around 2000 to below 25% then a regrowth to around 40% (2010) and a decline to 25% (2020). The Red Sea shows no change at around 25% (1995-2020). So the pattern in these three areas show no relationship to each other or to a changing climate. The Caribbean region reefs have a cover of around 0.15 ± 0.02. There is no evidence of a major reduction in coral cover in the Caribbean over the last two decades.
GCRMN data for the most important coral bioregion, the East Asia Seas, with 30% of the world’s coral reefs, and containing the most diverse coral of the ‘Coral Triangle’, show no statistically significant net coral loss since records began. The East Asia region has the biggest human population living in close proximity to reefs, and is located in the Indo-Pacific Warm Pool – the hottest major water mass on earth.
Life is most diverse in the warmest parts of the world’s oceans. This has been shown across 13 major taxonomic groups from zooplankton to marine mammals. Warmer water = more biodiversity. This is a scare story about things you cannot see.

It will be possible to avert Climate Change, but proactive support of governments of developed and developing nations is mandatory. Let India play a lead role in this
regard.
Climate Change has become a global survival issue now. Since it is a global issue, it needs to be addressed at global scale.
Moreover, instead of wasting costly resources in wars and related wasteful activities, which are due to false ego, greed and undue fear of security among nations, it will be prudent to utilize these resources in mitigating global warming, which is causing climate change. Hence, let us all swear to shun wars and support global peace.
The unprecedented rains, floods, land slides, etc. are due to climate change. These calamities are causing untold sufferings to all the living beings globally and they will not spare any one in the near future. Therefore, governments of all the nations must have to act fast to avert climate change, before it is too late.
The innovator of Carbon-sitnk plant reitrates that if these plants are installed globally at coal/fossil-fuel fired power plants and industries, they will effecrively prevent discharge of colossal amount of CO2, which is one of the major causes of global warming, while wars will further enhance the pace of global warming. Hence, in order to ensure survival living beings, wars must be stopped immediately.
The Carbon-sink plants can fix SOx and capture CO2 in very large amounts from flue-gases of the above said industries. An integrated Stripping plant will release the captured CO2. The released CO2 can be utilized to produce Ethanol, Methanol, Urea, salts, CO2 hydrates etc.
Thus, Carbon-sink plants can effectivly mitigate global warming, but these plants cannot be installed without consudered involvement of governments of developed and developing nations, because these are very costly plants. Moreover, when there is an issue of survival, the cost and all other issues become insignificant.
Therefore, the innovator of Carbon-sink pant is seeking an urgent response and support of the heads of governments of the above said nations, before it is too late.
The innovator will be glad to share the concept of Carbon-sink plant with the experts of the above said nations. In this regard, please contact the innovator at this email ID:

Then go to bed at night and stop heating up the atmosphere with street lights..DUHHHH…light =heat…DUHHHH !!!! Bunch of idiots
@OldScientist
Sea surface temperatures (SST) were trending downwards 2000-2018 (HadSST 4), and from 1950-1980, and from 1880-1910. The oceans warmed at a faster rate 1910-1940 than 1980-2010. Remember CO2 has been accumulating in the atmosphere at an accelerating rate all the time, so there is little correlation between the two. The most recent rise stopped in August 2023, and has been declining since (NOAA SST v5 monthly).
The ocean has warmed rapidly and repeatedly during the current interglacial with no correlation to CO2 e.g. 10,300-10,200 years before the present (y BP), 9,500y BP, 6,000-5,900y BP, 5,400-5,300y BP, 2,500-2,300y BP, 1,700-1,600y BP (Berner et al., 2008). There is a high frequency (18 events) of SST variability on the order of 1-3°C during a 10-50 year time resolution throughout the Holocene in the North Atlantic with no correlation to CO2. And Life just carried on.

It's awesome to see the backlash against BBC and MSM climate/ see 9 teen etc propaganda. Awesome, well done you awakened, brave wonders.

Too many suckers believe the climate emergency BS.
We need carbon dioxide, even more would be acceptable.
Believe what you want, but don't expect the intelligent citizen to swallow the coolade, and head for Net-Zero poverty…

Ecologists explained what was happening to the oceans over 100 years ago. "Tragedy of Commons."
@philbamford6957
Better stop all those private super yachts and private jets from polluting the atmosphere.

i put my spider man toy plastic on the ground
what will they do about it nothing…

@danielrawlings8355
The single biggest cause of CO2 is the Sun burning the world's oceans.
@danielrawlings8355
0.04% of the atmosphere is CO2.
@1boblink
Naw.., Trump's Uncle was a scientist so Donald just naturally knows that climate change is a total hoax. 😮🙄
@BDECOR96
I really do question everything the bbc reports on these days like is it even true ? Or is it just on the news so the elite can go forward with there agenda ? More and more people are waking up to the lies
@kevinmaloy715
Did anyone notice how many layers of clothing this pratt is wearing.
@Americanoligarchy
I've heard that the earth is coming out of the global ice age of the last million plus years and thats actually a much larger impact on global temps rising. My problem with trying to understand all of this, if it's so bad why aren't we doing anything about it. If its so bad, why do we allow private jet travel, why can you still get a 30 year mortgage on beach front property, and how in the hell is manufacturing 50 billion electric vehicles gonna be a thing for the environment? None makes any sense to me. But I'm just a dumb shmuck. I have no idea.
@esk2k5
best not tell your sheeple who hang your every word that if they continue towards zero C02, we will be heading into an extinction level event when C02 drops below 0.02% and all plants stop photosynthesis……oh no, couldnt let them in on that bit of info, especially with C02 currently sitting at 0.04% of earth's total atmosphere…
keep pushing this "GLOBAL BOILING" agenda……you are enabling the extinction of most life on this planet….
