A Gathering that included Cardinals Bishops and lay people from more than 110 countries did not take a stand on inclusion of the LGBTQ plus Community despite discussion that it might call on the church to be more welcoming. However the gathering did called for women to be granted more leadership roles in the church.

But when they became acquainted with the purity and simplicity of their worship, they were offended. "These churches," said the Portuguese "belong to the pope.' "Who is the pope,"said the natives, "we never heard of him." The European priests were yet more alarmed, when they found that these Hindoo Christians maintained the order and discipline of a regular church.

    But when the power of the Portuguese became sufficient for their purpose, they invaded, burned the Christian original, ancient books and sent the bishop bound to Lisbon. They were accused of following opinions which were by their adversaries accounted heretical. It was also decreed that all the books in their churches, and all records should be burnt.
