David Lammy has said the government is “young” after Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff Sue Gray resigned and a new poll found most people think the government is “sleazy”.
The foreign secretary said Ms Gray was a “superb public servant” after she quit on Sunday following weeks of briefings against her, including her salary being leaked.
After she stepped down less than 100 days into Labour’s premiership, Mr Lammy said: “It’s a young government and we get on with the work ahead of us.”

After 14 years of having to deal with a lying, corrupt Tory government bleeding us all white in order to line their own already bulging pockets and barely being taken to task over it we now have to deal with an hysterical right wing media determined to create the illusion that EVERYTHING Labour do results in chaos, they can't seem to take the tiniest step without the media being all over it and crying about lies, corruption and treachery. It's hard to stomach seeing Kuenssburg et al suddenly attacking the government after all that time keeping their yaps shut.
