SM Entertainment have announced the upcoming debut of a new girl group, called Hearts2Hearts, next month.

The South Korean music label, home to top K-pop acts such as aespa, NCT, Red Velvet and EXO, provided a first look at the upcoming girl group during the SMTOWN Live 2025 concerts in Seoul on January 11 and 12.

The shows, held at the Gocheok Sky Dome, marked SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary and featured performances from the label’s roster of artists. The company showcased a video teaser before formally announcing Hearts2Hearts’ Upcoming debut.

Hearts2Hearts will have eight members and will release their first music on February 24. It will mark the first girl group to debut under SM Entertainment in five years, since aespa in 2020.

An official X (formerly Twitter) page has already been set up for the band, however it remains private. Further details about the new band, including their line-up and debut release, remain scarce, though more announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

The agency wrote in a statement to Yonhap News Agency that Heart2Hearts’ name is derived from “its aim to connect with global fans through a mysterious and beautiful musical world filled with various emotions and heartfelt messages, and to move forward with a greater ‘us’”.

SM Entertainment also shared in the same statement the group’s plans to showcase “differentiated colours in various aspects” including music, performance and visuals, “based on our unique cultural heritage built over a long time and solid planning capabilities”.

In other K-pop news, (G)I-DLE vocalist Minnie recently unveiled the tracklist for her solo debut album ‘Her’. The seven-track record will be led by a title track of the same name and includes collaborations with bandmate Yuqi on ‘Drive U Crazy’ and NCT’s Ten on ‘Obsession’. ‘Her’ is due out on January 21.
