As well as leaving an estimated 20,000 dead, the conflict in Sudan conflict has created the world’s largest displacement crisis and ushered in the spectre of famine in Darfur. Those working on the front line of these intersecting emergencies fear that there is not enough international understanding of the scope of the crises. Barrett Alexander, programme head in Sudan for Mercy Corps, joined France 24 to shed some light on the immense humanitarian challenges facing the country.
