the US Supreme Court has heard pointed arguments on whether a former president is immune from criminal prosecution over acts carried out while in office.
Donald Trump, who is facing dozens of criminal charges across four cases, claims he – and all presidents – should have presidential immunity.
Trump’s trial on charges he tried to overturn the 2020 election is on hold while the Supreme Court considers his immunity claim.
It may take several weeks to receive the Justices’ decision, which will likely set a precedent for future US presidents.

Let’s see, if the Supreme Court says that a president is immune from breaking any laws even murder, that means Biden can….. get rid of his opponents by any means? Oh… they mean only TRUMP is immune, not Democrats. I see.
@Caderdi
Americans are proud to vote for a convicted felon Donald Trump! 2024!!❤❤❤❤❤

@dansanghera2047
Yep the Supreme Court has no balls to do the right thing and reject immunity
@catherinevandagriff1865
I would have asked SCOTUS this hypothetical: if PRESIDENT BIDEN staged a coup, took over the military, or had his rivals assassinated in order to stay in office, would those be official acts? Would HE have immunity from prosecution?
@junebrooks665
Near all the people in the crowd even know when questioned why are they really there !
@arthurlynnkanuha5730
Because we the people except how he is and they can not stand it. To me, to bad so sad for cry babies, like disgusting people they show they are.
@wisdomn
How about immunity for other state officials? Didn't Trump say about Mark Miley that he should be executed? And how about we apply his argument to the private sector. Say BP makes an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico… immunity for the executive?
@antonbende8210
we can assume that the supreme court has the brains that that Trump person does not have.
@iadorenewyork1
"Our former colonies are in a mess!" I know you didn't say that, but you COULD! Regards from the States!

@captainbuggernut9565
It absolutely is to do with Trump. Even Nixon had the decency to step down. He thinks no president can do anything without breaking the law. That is Putin-esq thinking and frankly a lie.
@WinstonSmith19847
In the US all people are equal but some people are more equal than others, that would be Donald Trump.

Trump,is ace and can handle the media very well. I enjoyed the Netflix series and realised how he became such a successful business man and networking guru. Has all the best mates from lawyers to accountants. He played the game of life well. He is also half British since his mother was Scottish
@beebee_0136
For those asking naive questions such as what will stop a US president from making veto decisions?: The fact that you asked shows you never listened to the SCOTUS arguments. There are instruments in place to ensure that is not the case, including the legislature and other checks and balances.
Also, isn't ironic that a past President reportedly took a decision that apparently cost the lives of two US citizens through a drone strike while in office? Once you open the floodgates, can't that be grounds to also retroactively debate the said incident followed by legal action especially since the said incident is not time barred and more grave compared to that of so called election interference?
These are questions you'd want to consider regardless of which aisle you are on.
@scwps23
If Trump doesn't have immunity. Then neither does JB. Remember JB's miss use of classified documents.
@ivanconnolly7332
To grope with immunity.
@polemius01
The US is teetering on the brink of Fascism. The right-wing of SCOTUS seems poised to push us over.
@jimg2850
Surely the limit on immunity must be when a president acts against the American people?
