Khloé Kardashian is getting slammed for criticising LA city’s Mayor for allegedly cutting the fire department’s funding.

Many social media users spoke out against Khloé after the Kardashian sister, 40, posted on Instagram attacking Mayor Karen Bass as wildfires in LA continue to rage.

The fires in the Los Angeles area, which have been burning since January 7, have destroyed more than 10,000 buildings and killed at least 24 people with 150,000 under evacuation orders.

Numerous celebrities have lost their homes, including Paris HiltonJames Woods, Eugene Levy, and Mel Gibson.

The reality star posted an image of L.A. Fire Chief on FOX 11 LA accusing the mayor of limiting the departments ability to fight fires with budget cuts.

She captioned the post: ‘I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!! You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!’

She continued: ‘Thank you for being honest @losangelesfiredepartment Chief Crowley’ and then: ‘Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!!’

Many users online took issue with Khloé’s outspoken statement, given that the Kardashians came under fire in June 2022 for using too much water during a drought.

Khloé’s Calabasas home used roughly 101,000 gallons of water over the allotted limit while her sister Kim’s properties used 232,000 excess gallons of water, according to TMZ.

@TheRickyDavila agreed: ‘Instead of Khloe Kardashian talking bull about Mayor Karen Bass, people should be talking about how she and her sister used an excess of over 300,000 gallons of water in just one month during a drought. How about the water waster just shut up.’

@ArtCandee posted: Khloe Kardashian is smack talking LA Mayor Karen Bass over the wildfires. In 2022, Khloe used roughly 101,000 gallons of water over the allotted limit during a drought. Her sister Kim Kardashian used 232,000 gallons over the limit. IN ONE MONTH ALONE. I wonder how much she’s gone over the limit in the past year?’

But others thought Khloé made a valid point and made good use of her large platform to call out government failings.

@xjessai wrote: ‘Good!! Call it like it is. Issues cannot be fixed if we don’t acknowledge mistakes were made. People died. I’m glad she said something.’

@PC_from_Berks posted: ‘Khloe is absolutely correct.’

@CartiersSaint agreed, writing: ‘We stand with Khloe!’

The controversy comes as the wildfires continue to rage throughout the Los Angeles area.

Key events in awards season have been postponed or abandoned, with some pressing for attention and money to be directed towards the first responders and firefighters’ efforts to contain the blaze.

Tomorrow could be be the worst day for fire conditions as winds up to 50mph and gusts of 70mph move through as part of the Santa Anas winds.

The National Weather Service’s meteorologist Rich Thompson said: ‘You’re going to have really strong gusty Santa Ana winds, a very dry atmosphere and still very dry brush, so we still have some very critical fire weather conditions out there.’
