If memory serves me correctly, Trump's allusion to going after his "political tormentors" should he return to the White House came up during a campaign event. Karine Jean-Pierre often [selectively] vows not to comment on some events out of a supposed fear of "violating the Hatch Act." I take it this occasion is a signal that "violating the Hatch Act" is not a big deal after all!🙂

The administration's line of thinking ~ We will chime in on allegations whose full breadth elude us about "North Korean soldiers training in Russia." It is one of those opportune moments for us to break our "solemn oath" not to comment on "hypotheticals" when political opportunism presents itself.
The administration might as well write off the "$20 billion loan" as a gift. Ukraine will never pay it back or the other billions that preceded it. 🙂

"I know this sounds bizarre, sounds like If I said this five years ago you would say lock me up, but we got to lock him up (Trump)." Replace the word lock up with lock out like they are trying to say and it makes no sense!!! Listen to what he said leading up to this remark.
