Watch: As James Cleverly is knocked out of the Tory leadership race

share

Watch another knockout round of the Conservative leadership race.

Tory MPs will vote to narrow the three remaining candidates down to two.

Then Conservative party members will have a few weeks to have their say through an online ballot, with a new leader announced on 2 November.

James Cleverly, Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick remain in the race, with the former out in front.

The victor will take the helm of the party from Rishi Sunak as it works in opposition for the first time since 2010.

  1. Apart from it being such a long absurd process, now Conservative members are complaining about the result. They have a democratic process but don't want to accept the result. Disgusting.

  2. Kemi ❤
    My step mom ❤

  3. This was a cock-up for the ages. They'll be talking about this one (from the Opposition benches) for years to come.

  4. Kemi♥️😍

  5. The next tory candidates 2 black illegal immigrants and a baby who doesn't pay his taxes. God help us if one of those 3 win the next election. We had a Muslim in charge under the tory government called Rishi Su-Sacked and look how that turned out.

  6. Tories are pathetic

  7. We all know who's winning, it's not unpredictable

  8. After the shambles of the last election, and giving Starmer a free ride , they had a chance to change . 3 months on the debarcle continues . Either one of these muppetts will be cannon fodder . No alternative for Tory voters now but to back REFORM .

  9. What an awful choice remaining, far right or far right. The Tories are doomed.

  10. Shame when the establishment doesn't get its own way.

  11. He was a tool anyway. 😂

  12. What’s the point. Better than labour it seems but the bar is so low.

  13. The Conservatives need a strong leader, a Churchill/Thatcher figure. These two most certainly aren't that & to be honest they sre both weak but pretending to be strong. There's only one person to run the country in my humble opinion & that's Farage, the Conservatives obviously aren't too serious about getting back into power or they would have moved heaven & earth to get him as leader. It's Reform for me, the only common sense option at this present time in politics.

  14. Total incompetence to the last. How on earth can Cleverly get less votes than in the last round? Then again why am I worrying. After voting conservative for the last 30 years, never again. Reform all the way.

  15. Vote Reform UK 🇬🇧

  16. Its a massive own goal for the Cleverly camp .Some of the mps must have voted for Jenerick in an attempt to Stop Badenoch and it has backfired spectacularly .

  17. Couldn't run a bath…

  18. If Tory party wants to win the next election, they need a single parent that has used a food bank to feed their family, and trouble paying their heating bills etc… Not the pompous millionaire twits they normally put up for election… Good luck finding that single person.

  19. The Tories are almost extinct and if RJ doesn't win they'll be desd in the water. The Tory party needs to get back its sense and get real people in charge again. Not foriegn agents.

  20. The sad thing is none of the above will accomplish anything with the Tory’s until they realise it’s not about them and start implementing the people’s wishes not the wishes of the so called elites

  21. Good result,Cleverly was too vlever gor himself.NOW WE NEED JENRICK TO FINISH THE JOB,KEMI NOT READY YET BUT A LEADER OF THE FUTURE.,

  22. Who cares, the tories are irrelevant.

  23. Badenoch is already the media favourite. So steer clear of her if the tories want power. It has to be Jenrick to take this country back for the fed up natives. 🇬🇧

  24. Reform for me then

  25. Hilarious, absolutely hilarious

  26. Interesting that the Tories refuse to use First Past the Post for their internal elections but insist on it for all other elections throughout the country. Anyone would think they know FPTP is a corrupt system.
Thankfully we've not got a Tory government. These two would happily remove our human rights both via ECHR and the Human Rights Act. This will be a very right wing dangerous Tory leadership and party.
Which one will grow a toothbrush moustache and bring back an ancient symbol applying a very distorted meaning to it?

  27. Tbf at leastt labour can laugh about it if they loss to Kemi or Jenrick

  28. What a stark choice for the Tory faithfull – dumber and dumber or hopeless and hapless!! 😂😂😂

  29. The sane one kicked out…brilliant news for labour

  30. 2 equally repugnant candidates remain and who honestly gives a fig which one leads a loathesome party that is out for a very long time now… (?) Clearly they havent learned a thing. Former cons voter.

  31. Just to think Devily Cleverly Cannot use his VOTES now To back up either of the front runners, However he can support them from a Verbal point of view
It's all down to the membership NOW and if they want to see real change they'll vote for Kami otherwise for most folks they'll be back off to reform

  32. Let's play pick a bigot… lightning round coming up! 😂

  33. Starmer will have to declare it as a gift if that unhinged psycho Badenoch wins 🤣

  34. It’s bloody obvious… Two candidates left in the running are Right of the party TO TRY AND COMBAD REFORM …… NO centre ground conservatives have a hope against Reform… BUT… Reform will NOT BE STOPPED…..

  35. The comp is down to 'WHO' versus 'Why?'. As it happens, no-one cares.

  36. Comedy gold… Jenrick or badenoch…. labour must be laughing their heads off..
Will all labour mps have to declare this as a gift?

  37. Mind. Blown. 😮

  38. My god the quality in leadership has dropped off the cliff world never want any of theys clowns to run a burger bar let alone the country

  39. Brilliant. Let's hope Kemi makes it to leader. A genuine Tory for a change.

  40. Let's Go Robert Jenrick!

  41. Kemi BadEnoch vs. Honest Bob. Yikes.
