All the haters in this comment section obviously didn't watch the WNBA from its very fragile beginnings or live through the years when the USWNT didn't even come close to sniffing a World Cup. If you don't know–if you weren't paying attention–then OF COURSE you don't think these women left a legacy or "moved the needle." Women's sports–sports in general–wouldn't be where it is without these "2 old retired players" and the other players who started the greatness right along with them. Sorry, but it’s starting to feel like Sue and Megan are trying to capitalize on the growth of women’s sports by claiming it was because of them.
I appreciate their advocacy, but let’s be real. NIL, social media (exposure) and fresh talent has moved the needle for women’s sports.
